DETROIT - Leadership from the only active-duty Army installation in Michigan - the U.S. Army Detroit Arsenal in Warren - will make the short car trip on Tuesday morning, Jan. 15, to Detroit's Cobo Center to visit the 2013 North American International Auto Show. During the show's second media preview day, Army leadership will visit with automakers and discuss collaboration opportunities as well as "dual use" strategies that can potentially benefit both groups.

Maj. Gen. Michael J. Terry, commanding general of the U.S. Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command (LCMC), will lead the group comprised of Arsenal-wide business units.

Representatives from the following organizations will be available for questions:

  • U.S. Army Program Executive Office Combat Support and Combat Service Support
  • U.S. Army Program Executive Office Ground Combat Systems
  • U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research Development and Engineering Center

"This is my first trip to the Detroit auto show having just taken command here in Michigan last summer," explained Maj. Gen. Terry. "I'm anxious to build upon relationships this defense community has already established as well as uncover new opportunities for collaboration."

Media inquiries can be directed to John Wray (jwray@brtrc.com).
