Three Consecutive Days Generate Attendance Outpacing 2009 at 2010 North American International Auto Show
Detroit, MI - January 19, 2010 - With
global media, industry leaders and government officials leading the
way last week, the good news continues at the 2010 North American
International Auto Show (NAIAS).
Attendance Saturday through Monday at the one of world's
premiere events surged over 2009 figures:
Saturday
2009 - 74,613 attendees
2010 - 83,715 attendees
Sunday:
2009 - 90,608 attendees
2010 - 96,623 attendees
Monday:
2009 - 39,715 attendees
2010 - 61,112 attendees
"We couldn't be more pleased with the response of the public for
the 2010 NAIAS," said Doug Fox, 2010 NAIAS Chairman. "The
positive vibe of preview week is spilling into our public days and
we are looking forward to keeping the momentum to continue what has
been an exciting time so far. The best part is we were ready
for the crowds so more people can enjoy the experience
fully. We have wider aisles at the show and plenty of parking
with easy-to-use shuttles. Having the experience to put on a
show of this magnitude is a great asset, and we are pleased to put
that experience to action when the crowds are at such positive
levels."
In addition to the worldwide and North American
debuts, Electric Avenue (presented by Dow Chemical), and the
return of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation
EcoXperience, activities throughout the week continue to drive
attendance:
- The NAIAS Automotive Education Day, presented by State Farm
Insurance: Wednesday, January 20.
- Detroit Tigers Winter Caravan:Join us for the Detroit Tigers'
fan rally, including an interactive Q & A session, Friday,
January 22, 2010. Detroit Hall Stage, 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm.
