Troy, MI - Oct. 31, 2012 - The North American
International Auto Show (NAIAS) 2013 announced today that online
media registration will open tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 1, and
credential applications are being accepted for Press Preview, Jan.
14-15, 2013, at Cobo Center in Detroit.
Credentials by Mail
Journalists are encouraged to register online at naias.com and
complete the form on the "Media Access" page. To receive a
credential by mail, journalists must apply during the early
registration period that ends Dec. 21, 2012. After Dec. 21,
journalists may still register online, but will need to collect
their credentials in person at Cobo Center just prior to Press
Preview. The registration deadline for media applications is Dec.
31, 2012; no applications will be accepted after this
date.
Media credentials are required for entry to NAIAS 2013 and
provided to qualified journalists only. To qualify, applicants
must be working in print, broadcast or social-based/website media.
All persons entering the show floor with credentials
during Press Preview will be required to present
additional identification (current driver's license or
passport) for validation. NAIAS credentials are not
transferable.
The Gallery
NAIAS media credentials will also provide access to a special
media preview of The Gallery, an exclusive event featuring a
magnificent display of uber-luxury and performance vehicles at MGM
Grand Detroit on Sunday, Jan. 13 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. This year,
The Gallery will also be open to the public, following the media
preview. Details will be announced soon.
Airfare Discounts
NAIAS also encourages journalists to start planning their trip to
Detroit now, and is making it easier for media to attend the show.
Premier Sponsor Delta Air Lines is offering 5-10 percent discounts
on select coach fares, on both domestic and international flights,
for travel to Detroit for NAIAS any time during the dates of
January 4-31, 2013. Assistance in booking flights is also
available through Passageways Travel, an ALTOUR Company. Details
and booking information can be found at naias.com/travel-directions/air-travel.aspx
The Stage is Set
NAIAS 2013 Chairman Jim Seavitt says the show consistently
provides a world stage for global automakers to unveil their
best.
"The NAIAS remains an integral part of the manufacturers' global
launch strategies, which makes it a 'must-attend' event for
automotive journalists," said Seavitt. "We've worked
diligently to earn and maintain the distinction of being a leader
in worldwide product unveilings, while attracting the most auto
show media coverage in the world."
