The Detroit Regional Convention Facility Authority recently
announced dramatic changes to Cobo Center in Detroit, home of the
North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). Construction is
already underway on the $221 million project, and while many of the
renovations will be ready for the 2012 NAIAS and 2013 NAIAS, all
improvements will be completed for the 2014 show.

The 2011 NAIAS concluded an overwhelmingly successful run with
increases across the board: in international media turn out,
vehicles revealed, manufacturer returns for 2011 (and 2012), as
well as public attendance figures. There was electricity in the air
at the show as automakers took the wraps off 55 new products, 35 of
those never-before-seen as worldwide debuts.

the globe. In just three short weeks, the NAIAS will reveal some of
the most significant and stunning vehicles, 90 percent of which
will be worldwide debuts.
