New Exhibit Space Makes Debut at NAIAS

Visitors to NAIAS 2012 will notice something new at the rear of Oakland Hall -- an additional 25,000 square feet of exhibit space, to be exact. The addition is part of the Detroit Regional Convention Facility Authority's (DRCFA) three-year, three-phased $299 million plan for the reinvention of Cobo Center, and represents the transition between the second and the final phase, which is the start of the extensive restructuring and expansion portion of the transformation process. The entire project is scheduled for completion by January 2015. Media get the first look at the new addition as they travel to and from Ford's press conference in Joe Louis Arena -- the first auto manufacturer press conference of the show -- and as they tour DENSO, Pure Michigan and ZF exhibits.
