NAIAS Adds Punch and Promise to Official Website

Troy, MI - October 28, 2010 - The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) continually provides visitors and exhibitors a world-class event that is always exceeding expectation. In keeping with that tradition, NAIAS is announcing new elements to its existing website at www.naias.com, featuring the following enhancements: 

Virtual Show Floor

  • An interactive map of the show floor that further extends the experience of the show to a global audience
  • Provides detailed profiles of exhibitors and sponsors
  • Categorization and filter tools to allow users to quickly connect with exhibitors
  • Compiles content from social media and manufacturers 

A Mobile Version of Website

  • Mobile site content customized for needs of mobile users
  • Virtual Tour functionality to help visitors better navigate the show floor
  • Photos, one of the site's most popular sections, are categorized by manufacturers and events
  • During the show, the homepage of the mobile site will feature each day's press conferences and schedule of events
  • Exhibitors will each have a page featuring their location on the show floor, profile description, photos from the 2011 show and Twitter feeds

Easier Access and Use

  • Website architecture refined to make it even easier for audiences to connect with content
  • Expansive drop-down navigation menu improves access to show information

"It's not only critical to keep up with the times in terms of technology on our website, but to also give it functionality and make it apply to our customers' needs," said Barron Meade, Chairman, NAIAS 2011. "This is not taking data from the site and trying to wedge it into a mobile application, it is about making our website and the popularity of mobile communication efficient partners in sharing information with journalists, consumers, visitors and exhibitors the way they have said they require it."

Vice Chairman of NAIAS 2011, Bill Perkins said the NAIAS "experience" has to be integrated with the technological advancements we've seen over the past year.

"With NAIAS, you have truly one of the most well-attended and established global events of the year," Perkins said. "The excitement of this event is something the website and our latest features must combine and translate to a world-wide audience.  All this must come as part of our ongoing goal of taking one of the best automotive events in the world to more dramatic heights - it's what our participants expect and what we expect from ourselves."
