BHGH has a unique approach to help academically capable children in need achieve academic success. Our core model, a residential scholarship program for at-risk youth, provides the structure and support needed to help them reach their greatest potential. We provide children with arms-around care, safe homes and environments, a first-class education, and opportunities to learn more about themselves and the world. The result? 100% of our scholars graduate from high school and attend college.

The mission of the Children's Center is to help children and families shape their own futures. We work to heal the hearts and minds of over 7,500 Greater Detroit children and families annually by providing therapeutic treatment to overcome emotional and intellectual challenges, trauma from abuse, neglect and violence, grief and loss. Since 1920, The Detroit Institute for Children (DIC) has been the leader in innovative treatment for special needs children throughout Southeast Michigan. Established by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1938, March of Dimes Metro Detroit continues to successfully fight to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality through community services, advocacy, research and education. In 2013, the foundation will celebrate its 75th anniversary by highlighting the continued strides made globally, nationally and even locally, right here in Southeast Michigan.

In partnership with the Detroit Police Department and community volunteers, Think Detroit PAL builds character in young people through athletic, academic and leadership development programs. Together with 1,500 trained and certified volunteer mentors, the organization serves more than 10,000 girls and boys annually, helping them learn the values of respect, responsibility, diversity, discipline, leadership and teamwork.
