Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the answers to your frequently asked questions about the NAIAS 2013 Photo Contest.

A: NAIAS Photo Contest participants submit their e-mail addresses to facilitate the functionality offered on the site and in order for the NAIAS to alert the winners.  The NAIAS shall not use any user information for any purpose other than those defined in the terms of use without explicit consent from the users.

A: NAIAS Photo Contest images must be in JPEG format.  Use the photo editing software that came with your camera or scanner to save your photo in the JPEG format.

No uploading images that are retouched in any way.  Do not upload your non-photo artwork, photos that you've found on the web, stock or celebrity photos, photos that appear to be copyrighted by someone else, screenshots, panoramic or oddly sized photos. No content is allowed that is inappropriate for public areas.

A: All photos go through an approval process before they appear on the site. If you've uploaded an image that falls into a category we don't accept (as specified below), we won't approve it. Otherwise, it will show up in the appropriate category once it is approved.
A: Click on the category you wish to upload to, click "Submit a Photo" and fill in the required fields. To upload a photo, you will need a digital version of the image on your computer. If you have a digital camera, follow the manufacturer's instructions for transferring your photos to your computer. Be sure to make a note of where the digital files are being saved on your computer so you can find them later. It is also a good idea to review your photos and jot down the file name of the best image before you start the upload process.  If you don't have a digital camera you can easily obtain digital versions of photos taken with a film camera. Most photo finishing services, including those provided by large department stores, offer the option of putting your photos on computer CD disks when you have film developed. The disk you receive will include software for viewing and saving the photos to your computer. Another option is to scan a print of your photo; if you don't have a scanner, many copy shops will scan the photo for you and put it on a computer disk.
A: Each participant may upload one image per category.
A: Unfortunately, storage of all users' hi-resolution images isn't possible. We suggest you keep a backup of the hi-resolution images you've uploaded.
A: The Photo Contest is for personal use. If you attempt to sell products, services or yourself by means of uploaded photos, logos, etc., we will not approve your image.

A: Send a note to mevangelista@dada.org and we'll look into it.
